Our Story

Booth Construction started in August 1978 in Gig Harbor, WA with Paul Booth acting as a one man company, mostly installing skylights. We built our first architect designed home in 1979, hiring a few helpers.

For the next ten years, we worked with many architects to build some very interesting projects for wonderful customers. We learned many different techniques of building homes this way.

In 1984 Booth Construction moved to Federal Way, WA, and Melinda joined the company. In 1989, when the speculative home building market became very good, we built several fine homes for sale in Normandy Park and other areas including Federal Way. These projects went very well and were also fun, and we learned how different the speculative business is from building custom for a customer.

We started to do more remodeling in our mix of jobs as new lots became more and more difficult to find in King County. In 1994 we relocated our business and family to Mercer Island, WA because the stock of homes needing remodeling was good, and the schools were great. In 2010, after the kids were out of school, we decided to move to the rural King County , south of Issaquah.

Since 1994 all of our work has been remodeling projects designed by Paul Booth and built on a time plus materials plus fee basis. We have found that this is the fairest way for a customer to receive quality workmanship. We are committed to providing professional service and quality craftsmanship for those who want the very best.
